Most of the time, voices from others have usually been used to define who we are, especially throughout Thai history. The stories from local people are notrecorded or remembered. Therefore, they are lost, even though they hold a great meaning to the area.

One of the best tools to capture memories is a camera. In the past, many homes would preserve these memories through photographs and even photo albums.

The process of creating this work is therefore a revival of memories of Koh Samui through the voices and eyes of locals. How do each of them remember the stories here? What original memories have been lost from the island due to transformation, from a coconut city to a tourist destination?

Giving local people ownership of their stories and letting them speak of the changes on Koh Samui through their photographs is a process of reviving memoriesand giving new meaning to the original photographs.
